Citizen Sleeper is a narrative RPG from developer Jump Over the Age and Publisher Fellow Traveller. The game is set on Erlin’s Eye an abandoned and ruined space station that exists on the edge of a degrading capitalist society. There thousands of inhabitants struggle to survive their day to day life in a run down metropolis on the verge of social collapse.

You play as a “sleeper,” a digitized human consciousness placed inside an artificial body. Your job is to survive from one cycle to the next by crafting friendships among the inhabitants who come from all walks of life and taking jobs to make some money.

In Citizen Sleeper you’ll also have opportunities to hack into the station’s computer network to access decades-worth of data on the sketchy corporation that owns you. That corporation wants you back, by the way. So there will undoubtedly be efforts to abduct you, which I’m guessing you will have to take measures to avoid or defend yourself against.

From the developer of In Other Waters, and featuring the stunning character art of Guillaume Singelin, Citizen Sleeper is a narrative RPG set on Erlin’s Eye, a ruined space station that is home to thousands of people trying to survive on the edges of an interstellar capitalist society.

You are a sleeper, a digitised human consciousness in an artificial body, owned by a corporation that wants you back. Thrust amongst the unfamiliar and colourful inhabitants of the Eye, you need to build friendships, earn your keep, and navigate the factions of this strange metropolis, if you hope to survive to see the next cycle.

According to the developer, Citizen Sleeper is inspired by classic tabletop roleplaying games. It uses dice, clocks, and drives, to “create a player-led experience, where you choose your path in a rich and responsive world.”

Citizen Sleeper is due out on May 5th. It’s going to be released on Xbox Series, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Humble Store.
